Student Requirements
Lecture is recommended for students Grade 6 or higher, wanting to know about current events and build a cognitive framework.

Course Information
Focussing on global events, students will be taken through eight current affairs hotspots and focus themes selected through the participation of nearly 100 students through the Current Events series.

Section 1: The changing international situation, the hotspots and focal points of international relations and world economy and trade
Topic 1. U.S. Policy Toward Russia
Topic 2. USA- China Trade war impact on Global Trade

Section 2: Thoughts on the Ethical Issues of Science and Technology in the Intelligent Era
Topic 3. Space exploration and innovation, and the new space race
Topic 4. Neurotechnology & Bioethics

Section 3: The political polarization of racial discrimination in the Covid-19 pandemic, what is the next step?
Topic 5. Pandemic & Public Health (Variants or mutations, Vaccine Efficacy, How it has been affecting mental health)
Topic 6. Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (BLM, APPI)

Section 4: Legal order and financial order in the digital age
Topic 7. Law and Order, and the Criminal Justice System
Topic 8. Digital Currency Trends

Rudi Lof
An accomplished competitive debater and well-known debate coach, Rudi has a high sensitivity and understanding of global events. Rudi studied history as an undergraduate, after graduating with excellent results, he studied for a double degree from law school and business school. With strong interest in current affairs and historical and political experience, Rudi spends two hours reading news every day. With more than 20 years of accumulation, no matter what topic, he can cite classics and use simple and concise language to tell the boring content in a vivid and interesting way of storytelling. He is relentless and straightforward in answering questions and expressing opinions, allowing him to give more insights into global issues discussed.

Dr. Jason Davis
Political economy scholar, teaches at the University of Pennsylvania. His main research direction is the political economy of international trade and conflict. Received a doctorate in political science, a master’s degree in economics, and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan and the University of Toronto, respectively.

Dr. Amir Monhareb
Authoritative experts in the topic of Covid-19, serving the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Massachusetts General Hospital, the first-line anti-epidemic in the United States. Studied in the Johns Hopkins Medical School to Yale New Haven Hospital to Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts General Hospital, all top medical schools in North America. At the same time, Dr. Amir is a native Canadian and won the eighth place in the Canadian National Debating Championship in 2008.

Joanna Nairn
Graduated from Harvard Law School, practiced 10 years of being a lawyer in the United States and Canada. Has served as a team of federal justices, the former main player of the Canadian national team, the champion of the World University Debate and Debate Championship (WUDC), a senior debate coach and judge for top North American competitions.

Dr. Kayla Lafrance
An expert from the National Aeronautics and Astronautics Center (NASA), the winner of King of the Nerds, season 2. Since childhood, Kayla has aspired to study the world of astronomy and graduated with a double bachelor’s degree in space research, engineering physics, and mathematics and public relations. Kayla focuses on the future interstellar journey of mankind, especially missions to the moon and Mars.
