Student Requirements
Recommended for students Grade 9, 10 or higher, working on supplementary writing for universities or summer programs.

Teacher
Patricia Westerhof
A published author and experienced educator, Ms Patricia Westerhof has spent over thirty years teaching English and creative writing to students from grades 7-12. Most recently, she was the Curriculum Leader of the English Department at St. Clement’s, a university-preparatory school for girls. Ms Westerhof is the co-author of the textbook The Writer’s Craft, and the author of two works of fiction, The Dove in Bathurst Station and Catch Me When I Fall. She holds an MA in Education, and her specialty is the teaching of writing. She has presented at multiple education conferences and writing festivals in Canada and the U.S. Newly retired from high school teaching, Westerhof teaches creative writing at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies, and she is working on a new novel.

By studying the basic elements of grammar, finer details and special cases, and common mistakes, students should be able to master the art of clear, grammatical writing and confront the challenge of the SAT exam with more confidence and ease.
